Crown & Bridge:
Crowns are commonly called "caps". They cover the tooth and protect it from further damage. They are necessary when you have large old fillings, broken or chipped teeth or if you have had root canal therapy on a tooth. There are several different kinds of crowns - all porcelain, porcelain on a metal core or just metal.
A bridge replaces a missing tooth or sometimes several teeth.
Dentures are prosthetic devices constructed to replace all or some missing teeth, and which are supported by surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. Conventional dentures are removable, however there are many different denture designs, some which rely on clasping onto teeth or dental implants.
Endodontics (Root Canal)
A common misconception is that root canal therapy involves removing the roots of the tooth. In fact, when the nerve of the tooth becomes infected, root canal treatment can SAVE the tooth. Contrary to popular belief, most root canals are not painful.
Halitosis is medical term for bad breath. The goal is to get to the source of the bad breath and eliminate it. Sometimes, a special mouthwash is dispensed to aid the treatment.
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root used in dentistry to support restorations that resemble a tooth or group of teeth. Dental implants are made of plasma coated titanium.
Inlays/Onlays are a substitute for traditional restorations. They are custom made in a laboratory and are bonded to the teeth. They can be either porcelain to match the tooth or metal (usually gold).
Invisalign®* is a form of orthodontic treatment that works to correct many different types of malocclusions through the use of a series of clear plastic trays called aligners. In many cases it provides an excellent treatment alternative to traditional orthodontic braces and metal wires.
Invisalign utilizes 3-D computer imaging technology to correct problematic bites or malocclusions by planning a complete sequence of custom-made clear aligners. This series of clear aligners, each of which is worn for a couple of weeks, incrementally move the teeth into place until the final desired corrections are reached.
The advantage and appeal of Invisalign appliances is that they are more cosmetic and more comfortable than most other orthodontic appliances. With Invisalign appliances orthodontic treatment is practically “invisible.”

Laser Periodontal Treatment
A laser is a high tech devise that generates a tiny beam of very concentrated light . This beam of light brings energy into your mouth through a tiny fiber, to help remove areas of infection and remove gum disease around the teeth with great precision and accuracy.
The laser beam sterilizes the affected area and seals off blood vessels, which minimizes the chance of infection or bleeding. Patients are also much more comfortable during and after treatment with laser therapy. The need for local anesthetic is reduced but it is usually used to make sure that you feel absolutely nothing during the treatment. There are many benefits of laser dentistry.
They include: faster healing, reduced risk of infection, decreased sensitivity, less time in the dental chair, less bleeding, and less post-treatment discomfort.
These are custom made mouthpieces to prevent you from grinding or clenching your teeth during the day and night. Ultimately, they help relieve or in some cases prevent TMJ (temperomandibular joint) dysfunction.

This is the treatment of periodontal (gum) disease. Periodontal disease is a disease of the teeth, gums and the bone that surrounds the teeth. The main cause of periodontal disease is the accumulation of plaque and tartar. The goal of Soft Tissue Management is to eliminate the source of the infection by removing the plaque, tartar, and the bacterial toxins from the root surface. This is done through traditional scaling and root planing and local delivery of antibiotics. In our office we supplement these therapies with a soft tissue laser that further enhances the removal of toxins and the consequently improves health of the gums.
